Easter Celebration

Have a Blessed Easter Celebration.
In few days Christians will be celebrating Easter Sunday. For us Christ’s followers, it will be a time for rejoicing and celebration as we meditate on God’s great love for us which He demonstrated when He sent His Son Jesus Christ in human form in our midst.

When Jesus died for us on the cross, He gave us access to God the Father. Because He died, we can experience abundant life, grace, mercy, and the fellowship of His presence.

Let me share a quote from Henri Nouwen about Easter. I hope this will touch your hearts and help you to appreciate how much our Father in heaven loves us.
“The Lord is risen indeed. . . . Christ’s body did not remain in the tomb, but raised to new life, and . . . our own bodies will join him in glory. . . . It is a great and powerful mystery. . . . The body is not a prison to escape from, but a temple in which God’s glory already dwells, and in which God’s glory will be fully manifested on the day of the resurrection. . . . Easter season is a time of hope.

There is still fear, there is still a painful awareness of sinfulness, but there also is light breaking through.. . . .We can be joyful or sad, optimistic or pessimistic, tranquil or angry, but the solid stream of God’s presence moves deeper than the small waves of our minds and our hearts.

Easter brings the awareness that God is present even when his presence is not directly noticed. Easter brings the good news that, although things seem to get worse in the world, the Evil One has already been overcome. Easter allows us to affirm that although God seems very distant and although we remain preoccupied with many little things, our Lord walks with us on the road and keeps explaining the Scriptures to us. Thus there are many rays of hope casting their rays on our life through life.” (Show Me The Way).

May we all remember that when Christ died and rose again, He delivered us from the power of death, from the power of sin, from the power of the Evil One and has started His redemptive work in our lives – so that we will be conformed to the image of His Son, the Lord Jesus.

“The tradition I handed on to you in the first place, a tradition which I had myself received, was that Christ died for our sins, in accordance with the scriptures, and that he was buried; and that on the third day, he was raised to life, in accordance with the scriptures; and that he appeared to Cephas; and later to the Twelve; and next he appeared to more than five hundred of the brother at the same time. . . . This is what we preach and what you believed. (I Corinthians </strong>15:3-6, 11)

Hallelujah! Christ is risen, indeed!

IV SUMMER CAMPS

IVCF PHILIPPINES SUMMER CAMPS 2010
Every summer, IVCF Philippines focuses on training camps for our students. We invest so much of our resources for our students to communicate the gospel of Christ, disciple young believers, and train our members to be committed servant-leaders of Christ.

What great joy to share a few testimonies of the impact of these training camps to our IVCF students.
• I praise Your name for the changes that occurred to me. The realizations and revelations were very clear and I thank You so much for it. I am very blessed to be given this opportunity. By Glory Daisy V. Taganile, Kawayan Camp 2009 delegate from Western Visayas Regional Unit.
• I came here to camp, proud and sinful. But since listening to the expos, the SG meetings, and being able to daily commune with my God, I can honestly say that something in me has changed. Never have I felt such a close connection with my God. And I no longer fear being tested because I am a child of God and He wont ever leave my side. I thank God for this opportunity to grow in Him. Surely this is but the beginning of my journey with the Lord. By Mia Lopez, ISCF LCDC 2009 delegate from Quezon City Science High School.
• What is clear to me now, Lord, is that I want to serve You. I want to journey and live with You and in You through the young people in church and also sa IVCF, also to live a simple and ordinary life contented of You. Its my prayer that the light that in me would really radiate and create an impact to the people around me. – Faithmae S. Gambe, Kawayan Camp 2009 delegate from Northern Mindanao Regional Unit.
• One great thing I learned in OS is loving people whom I never really had any intimate connection with. Interaction with my host family and children in Singawan (the sitio I was assigned to) was used by God to melt my insensitivity and unawareness of other peoples condition, both physical and spiritual. I learned to live with them with all my heart. – By Jobel Beulah Sornillo, Operation Samaria Medical Mission 2009 delegate from UP Manila.
– Ricardo Caleb R. Cosico, Kawayan Camp 2009 delegate from Metro Manila Regional Unit.

Did these testimonies made you look back at your own IVCF camp experiences? Remember how God transformed you during an ISCF camp, or Operation Samaria, or your Kawayan Camp? God had blessed many IVCFers through our summer camps. We can all testify how God provided for our individual camp fees and the bigger camp subsidy needs through the generosity of our IVCF alumni.

This summer we are asking our God to provide for the needed subsidies for our national summer training camps. And we are again asking God through you, our IVCF alumni. To those who has the ability to give, to those who are willing to give sacrificially, and to those who are one with our vision to continue ministering to students for the building of Gods kingdom, I am asking for your financial support.
IVCF is still raising funds for camp subsidies from our IVCF alumni because we want to lower the camp fee so our students can afford to join our training camps. Through this strategy, we are also teaching our students the importance of the student-graduate integration in IVCF, the value of giving to IVCF student ministry, and as examples of generosity of our alumni to our movement.

We pray that God would allow you to respond to our need and make you as one of His channels of blessings for our summer camps. You may send your gifts through our bank accounts:

Elpis Ministry, Maesot, Thailand

Posted on Behalf of Elpis Ministry in Maesot, Thailand.

The eyes of the Lord is on those who fear on those who hope in His unfailing love…Psalm 33:18 … Our Bible verse for Elpis School; our vision is to give the children hope .. for them to have better future .

In times like this, all we can do is really to hope in His unfailing love.. Because we know that it is God himself who called us to take care of these children. He sent us for them to find Him and for them to have a hope and future.

Is future means when they reach 15 and can write, read and have sufficient knowledge then their parents who abandoned them will just remember they have a child and will show up and get them and send to Bangkok?

We are getting discouraged but still standing on God’s promises . We are here because God has meant us to be here .. to rescue but we are praying for His great power to be manifested so we can battle this vicious cycle of sending the children to Bangkok.Every time the children are taken away .. our hearts are broken and we always pray and cry that they will be well and not end up in Prostitution or anything dangerous ..

But something different must be done .. we put up the vocational center hoping it will generate funds for them but we still need more professional help to make it work and people to patronize our product .

1. Faith House under Gigi
Do pray for Pyupwewin our most intelligent child she had been crying for days and everytime she cries bitterly it break our hearts. Her dream is to study and be professional or even to be a doctor .. but her grandma wants her to work In Bangkok as a rice seller so she can send money to them and support them. She was abandoned by her mother .. Her grandma raised her until she ended up in our school and our shelter house. She didn’t know her Mother until she come last week and told her she should go to Bangkok. She came with another two smaller children from her second husband whom she divorced again. We already lost several students because of this.. The Paw karen just entrust their children to our shelter house and get them when they are big enough to be smuggled out to Bangkok to work. we desperately need your prayers that God will divinely intervene.. that God will powerfully work on our behalf that Pyupwewin Grandma will agree to let her stay here and let her study . Pray that we can have something for her to do.

2. Pray for Blessing Center

We have a center and we have been working hard so it can generate fund for the future of the children and to support them .. Pray for more customers in our coffee ice cream shop .. Pray that we can have many people that will come and study English .. we are willing to teach and work hard so the center can generate income and we can hire our girls after school. We need more ideas how to produce crafts and many products that are unique that the children can sell. we are praying for people that will help us market our products ..

3. Pray for Elpis School

It’s our exam week. Pray for wisdom and good health for the children that they can do good in the exam .. Pray for the teachers as well.

4. Pray for us Missionaries that we can have more empowering form the Lord . We won;t be discouraged but stand on God’s promises and pray that we will seek God’s presence more so we can along side with you will have the victory .

In Christ,
