Rice Bucket Project

MEANS Rice Bucket Project: How did it come about?

Rice Bucket ChallengeCome join us. MEANS Rice Bucket Challenge came as an inspiration from an NGO in the Philippines giving rice in a bucket (about 20 pounds) to families. The idea of giving a rice bucket will be a wonderful help to our ministry partners. In 2015, we began working on this vision with Muslim volunteers of AL Hayat’s Radio Gandingan Ministry in Mindanao. Through God’s provisions, MEANS has supplied not just buckets but sacks of rice to our ministry partners. Recipients of rice buckets are Elpis Ministries ( a Filipino run NGO helping Burmese children at risk for slave labor and sex trafficked) in Maesot, Thailand, IVCF Philippines Homes, MEANS Child Education Care families, jail inmates, Means Read to Grow children and Serve a Meal, OPlan Detention Shelter for Children in Batasan Hills, Samaritana Transformation Ministries (NGO helping out-of-prostitution women, and churches who are MEANS partners.

We have also given rice buckets to disaster survivors, people affected by Taal Volcano eruption, street and homeless people especially during the pandemic, our partners at New Tribes Mission, and Trisikad drivers.

We praise the Lord for touching people’s hearts to share their resources to help those in need. Surely, by God’s grace and with the help of kind hearted people like you, MEANS has decided to continue to help our ministry partners and needy brothers and sisters.

This   Christmas, we will once again give rice buckets to our ministry partners. We are inviting our friends and donors to join us in this season of giving to bless them. Will you take this challenge? Your $50 will provide 5 buckets of rice for 5 families. Bring about a small change in the lives of needy families.

“There are people in the world so hungry, that God cannot appear to them except in the form of bread.” [Mahatma Gandhi]
