College Education Care – a ministry program of MEANS

ALL’S WELL, THAT ENDS WELL!

Summer is graduation season in the Philippines.  Some schools have started as early as June 2025 and others have held theirs as late as August.   Philippine Normal University, a prestigious school for students who want to pursue a degree in education held theirs this month.

As part of MEANS Leadership Initiative, we have started a scholarship program to help needy but deserving students who want to pursue a degree in education at Philippine Normal University-Visayas in Negros Occidental.    Our requirements for them are (1) to be involved in the campus ministry of Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship of the Philippines, (2) to be involved in MEANS projects that  are helping their community and the environment.  These projects are Read to Grow Literacy Program and Serve a Meal, Care of Creation, Jail Ministry and helping in the distribution of gifts during Christmas to needy children and families. 

On August 5, 2025 , all five (5) of our  MEANS scholars from PNU – Visayas graduated with Latin Honors.  Four (4)  of them, Angelie Toque, Angelica Vergara, Frezy Mayuno, Angela Alontaga  graduated Magna Cum Laude and one, Ruth Intico, graduated Cum Laude. 

As of August 2025 – We have 20 college student scholarships.

We provide $50 allowance per month for their school needs.
