FOCUS ON MEANS COLLEGE SCHOLARHIP PROGRAM

What is College Education Care? When we started our college scholarship program, one of our aims is to focus on supporting students who dream to become educators and to have a part in shaping the minds of young Filipinos and to share Christian values to their students.  Our scholars who are followers of Jesus are active with IVCF Philippines group in their campuses and churches.  They are also volunteers of MEANS Read to Grow (RTG) classes in their community.  Through them, our vision dream of influencing society for God and the public square is slowly being realized. Through a monthly school allowance of $50, we help make their educational journey possible.

Rejoicing in God’s Faithfulness Last August 2025, five (5) of our MEANS scholars from Philippine Normal University Visayas graduated with Bachelor of Science degree in Education and all awarded with Latin Honors (4 Magna Cum Laude and 1 Cum Laude) for their school performance.  MEANS support did not stop after their graduation from college.  Since all come from low income families and the Licensure Exams for Teachers is quite expensive ($200), MEANS, through the generosity of our donors, decided to cover all their expenses for the Teacher’s Review Classes.  We wanted to help them focus on their review classes.  They took the professional licensure teacher’s test last March 16, 2026.

From Hard Work to Victory: All Passed the Board Exams. On May 12, 2026, tears of joy flow from their eyes accompanied with shouts of thanksgiving to God when they learned about the result of their exams.  Everyone, including their parents and their school community celebrated their victory!  We at MEANS also praise God for His goodness to them. After learning about the good news, they wrote us to share their joy:

Frezy Arlos Mayuno (Magna cum Laude): “Above all, thank God, for this miracle — for letting me pass the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers!  All because of God’s grace.Thank You, Lord, for answering my prayers. Thank you MEANS and donors, for being part of our journey and for helping us prepare for this step in our lives. May the Lord God continue to bless the MEANS family so you can help many more needy students.

Angelica Ramos Vergara (Magna cum Laude): “Thank you so much for your love, support, and generosity throughout this journey. I am truly grateful for everything you have done for me from the very beginning until this achievement became possible. Thank you for believing in me and for your prayers for us.   You all became a big part of this success, and I will always carry your kindness and support in my heart. May the Lord bless you even more for the lives you continue to help and inspire. “
