Praise In The Midst Of A Pandemic

Dear Friends,

Please take a minute to read updates below from some of our partners in the Philippines and their response to the pandemic. We are praying for you during our work day! Blessings.

IVCF Caraga Regional Unit

Local tailors bring joy to our hearts. They made 500 cloth masks which were already distributed by our staff team to the community who are most in need of such aid. We also thank the Lord for our partnership with MEANS USA. The recipients are grateful and it can truly be seen in their smiles, from Maligaya, to Rosario, to Lapinigan, to Patin-ay. We are still praying and we never stop trusting God during this hard time. We continue to urge you to stay safe by staying at home. God bless us all!

IVCF Central and Eastern Visayas

We are happy to help even in small ways. ALL of us can do something. Give us wisdom, O Lord. So far, we have partnered with four local tailors in Cebu City to produce at least 1,000 washable face masks to be distributed to the needy. We are grateful to the Lord for this opportunity to be of help to our community. Praise God for MEANS USA who sponsored this project. Praise to the Lord the Almighty! We have distributed the following: 300 washable face masks to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center; 50 to Barangay Adlaon, Cebu City; 30 to the neighbors near the IV Home in Cebu.

Miracle Central Fish & Loaves

Thanks to our donors for providing 750 face masks for the poorest of the poor in sixteen barangays in Bacolod City. All the face masks will be distributed within the next week. God bless these face masks and manifest His power through these protective gear against COVID 19. So far, MEANS USA has sponsored 750 face masks, some of which were already distributed among Barangays in Banago. There are still 107 face masks remaining to distribute. Thanks to all our donors for helping us stop the spreading of the COVID 19. We have just distributed 250 face masks for Barangays 1 & 2. These areas are thickly populated. Thanks to brothers and sisters who help us distribute the face masks to help combat COVID-19. Thanks also to our donors. Today alone, we distributed 632 face masks across all Barangays. We are hoping we can give more to the poorest of the poor to stop the spreading of the virus. In total, we have distributed 1,300 face masks to sixteen different Barangays to date. We hope to get more sponsors to reach out to more depressed Barangays.

Face Masks Distribution in Tanauan

Every barangay in Tanauan has set checkpoints to ensure the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). Among the barangay checkpoints, Lapay, Tugop, Arado, Amanluron, Cogon, and Linao received a combined 215 face masks today. We also cooked pansit and bought bread for them as our way of thanking them for their hard work. We partner with local tailors and garments students in producing cloth face masks. As of today, we have delivered around 400 face masks: 150 in Sta. Elena and Guindag-an; 215 to the local frontliners of Lapay, Tugop, Arado, Amanluran, Cogon, and Linao; additionally, 35 facemasks distributed to pedicab drivers and neighbors. The remaining 100 facemasks will be distributed to our local churches. To local brothers and sisters who are producing the facemasks, and on behalf of MEANS USA, I say, “Thank you for your hard work and sacrifices.” And thank you MEANS USA for sponsoring the face masks distribution here in our town. You have blessed many souls. Thank you for your generosity and hard work. To God be the glory.

Aside from the face masks, snacks were also given to the BHERT and Tanod taskforce in every barangay check point as our way of thanking them for their hard work! I praise the Lord for the safe travel and for the fine weather. I praise God for bringing hope and joy to the residents in these barangays through this activity. They were so thankful for the help. Special thanks to my sister and my brother in law for driving us directly to remote places to deliver the snacks and masks. These districts’ residents are still in need of facemask; we are praying that more will help and support this cause. Face masks are the immediate need. Local sisters are continuously sewing the remaining face masks to be distributed to other barangays specially for the frontliners and for those stationed at checkpoints. Please continue to pray for us. Thank you MEANS USA for the big help. To God be all the glory!
